A Canadian actress, born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as Ruta Mary Kilmonis. Ruta Lee received a Golden Boot Award in 2002 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 for lifetime achievement. She married Webster B. Lowe Jr. in 1976. Her most important works are Funny Face (1957), Witness for the Prosecution (1957), The Doomsday Machine (1972), and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). Ruta Lee lived in California, the United States. She is of Lithuanian origin and speaks Lithuanian fluently. She graduated from Hollywood High School in Los Angeles. In 1954, she enrolled at Los Angeles City College and the University of California, Los Angeles, and obtained American citizenship. She trained in acting in high school and university and began her artistic career during her studies. She began appearing on television in 1952, and she made her film debut in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). She continued her television and cinematic work, but her television appearances had the largest share.
