A Polish playwright, writer, and screenwriter, born in Poznań. He studied acting and history in Warsaw, Poland, and obtained a doctorate in Polish studies. He began his literary career by publishing short story collections depicting the social reality in Poland, such as The Nonsense Spinner (1968) and The La-ba-da Dance (1970). He was famous for his satirical writings and critical articles, and soon turned to writing screenplays. Among his most notable cinematic works is the film Polowanie na muchy by director Andrzej Wojda in 1969. He contributed to writing the screenplay for the Polish film The Cruise in 1970. He died in Cairo.
