A British actor, born in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He studied at Edgbaston College and Thornbury School. During World War II, he served in the Army, worked for a real estate agent, and worked at an aircraft factory. After completing his military service in World War II, he worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in several British films. He is best known for starring in the comedy series Don't Wait Up, and has also appeared in Don't Tell Father (1992), Robin's Nest (1977), and The Nearly Man (1975). He died on December 22, 2019, in London at the age of 95, after suffering from illness.
