A Kazakh actress, born in Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan. She graduated from the Petropavlovsk College of Arts, Department of Acting in 2004, then graduated from the Moscow Theater Academy, Department of Acting and Directing in 2011. In 2008, while studying, she participated as an actress in the film Tulpan by director Sergei Dvortsvoy, which won a prize at the Cannes International Film Festival. Ten years later, she won the Best Actress Award at the 71st Cannes International Film Festival for her role in the film Ayka to be the first actress from a post-Soviet country to win the award.
