An American ballet dancer, choreographer, actor, and musician. He was a Broadway performer and a dancer specializing in Hollywood musicals. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. He was married twice and had no children. He performed with his own dance company and also had a brief career as a choreographer for film and Broadway. His notable works include The United States Steel Hour (1953), The Glory Brigade (1953), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), and Hot Blood (1956). After his career in film and theater, he moved to Europe and became a renowned dance teacher. He died in Perpignan, Pyrénées-Orientales, France, on February 18, 2013, at the age of 91.
