An American choreographer and actor, born on July 28, 1934 in Didim. Among the awards he received is the Kennedy Center in 1995, the MacArthur Fellowship, the National Medal of Arts, and the Paul Robson Award in 1988, he began ballet lessons at the age of 7. At the age of fifteen, he became a member of the New York City Ballet, and at the age of 17 he became the lead dancer of the first ballet choreographed for the New York City Ballet in 1963. He danced in several theater productions on Broadway in New York. He is famous for his appearance in the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. (1954).
