An American actor who was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on December 27, 1926 as Courtland Jourolman Jr. He died in Santa Clarita, California, on March 1, 2012 of heart disease. Jerome Cortland married three women and had five children. As an actor, he is famous for acting in: Kiss and Tell (1945), Kake Believe Ballroom (1949). As a director he directed the TV series Nancy (1970-1971). As a producer, he produced Escape to Witch Mountain (1975). After his screen tests, Jerome Cortland signed a seven-year contract with Columbia Company, and appeared as a young man in comedy films in the forties. In the early fifties, he turned to theatrical work on Broadway, and in the mid fifties he turned to television work. At the end of the sixties, he worked in directing and producing television. In 1997, he moved to Chicago and studied drama and directing at the Faculty of Columbia for 5 years.
