A British writer, actor, and film director, born in Forest Hill, South London, United Kingdom. His parents were social workers. He attended Queen Elizabeth School in Dorset and worked in Burma at the Rangoon radio station during World War II, where he was awarded the Burmese Star. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has appeared in British television plays. He appeared in several films, such as Ending Up (1989), Royal Flash (1975), Sudden Terror (1970), and Camelot (1967). He died on February 19, 2010.
