An American actor, who was born on June 23, 1889, in Brooklyn . He appeared in approximately 140 films between 1914 and 1955. He began his career as a teenage singer, making several records in 1907. As a vaudeville actor on Broadway, he appeared in the play Room Service. He got a chance in Hollywood, where he appeared in a few silents. he was famous for his roles in crime films and died on June 21, 1957 in Los Angeles in the United States. Among his films: High Sierra (1941), The Killers (1946), The Brute Man (1946), and The Seven Year Itch (1955). |
