A Canadian actor, born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as Jonathan Hatley. He married twice and had two children. His works include The Saint Strikes Back (1939), The Saint Takes Over (1940), The Saint's Double Trouble (1940), and The Saint in Palm Springs (1941). Jonathan Hale was a member of the diplomatic corps before his film career, which began with Warner Bros. with the film Housewife (1934). He continued to work with major Hollywood production companies, such as MGM, RKO Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and United Artists, often playing the roles of corporate executives, police officers, military officers, and high-ranking politicians. He was also famous for playing the role of Inspector Vernac in several of The Saint film series. produced by RKO. He participated in more than two hundred films and thirty television productions.
