    A British actress who was born in London, England, United Kingdom on September 27, 1929 and died in Alicante, Spain on May 29, 2014 of a heart attack. She married twice and got 3 daughters. Her most significant works include Passport to Pimlico (1949), The Pallisers (1974), The Power Game (1965-1969), and Boys in Brown (1949). She was the daughter of actors and granddaughter of professional ballroom dancers. At the age of 6, she danced among her artistic family, and at the outbreak of World War II, she left with her mother to Wales. After the end of the war, work in the theater was scarce, so she turned to work as a model for photographers. At the age of 17, she succeeded in the exam to join the Rank company, which was called the Charm School. She signed a 5-year contract with a salary of 10 pounds. She played a small role in her first film Anna Karenina (1948), and she played bigger roles in the comedy film Passport to Pimlico (1949) and the crime drama Mystery Junction (1951). In 1952, she refused to renew her contract with Rank. Her movie appearances were few, and most of her professional work in the fifties and sixties was on the theater through the Royal Shakespeare Theater Company and the West End Theatre. She was known for playing the classics of William Shakespeare and comedy and thriller shows in front of Peter O'Toole and John Mills. Her television career flourished during the sixties and seventies, and she had a shining history on television. She continued until the nineties, and she retired from acting in 2001. She lived her last years in Spain.
