An American cartoonist who wanted to be a cartoonist from the age of six. He worked at the Walt Disney Company, where he helped draw the character of Donald Duck in 1942. During World War II, he joined the Navy. He moved to Carmel, California, following World War II and started doing freelance cartooning, and in 1951, he created the character of Dennis the Menace. His credits include Dennis the Menace (1959-1963) and Take Heed Mr. Tojo (1943).
