An American actress, who was born on November 23, 1888 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She appeared in more than 100 films between 1935 and 1955, and began her career on Broadway, She is best known for the movies Man-Proof (1938), The Reluctant Dragon (1941), Hangmen Also Die! (1943), Bathing Beauty (1944) and Harvey (1950). She died on December 24, 1955 in Los Angeles, California, of breast cancer.
