Before he began acting professionally, he served seven years in the English Army. He worked on Broadway shows from 1900 until shifting into motion pictures. Among his notable works are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923). He died on July 15, 1947 in Hollywood, USA. |
