An American fashion designer, actor, and film producer who has served as the chief designer for Isaac Mizrahi's Xcel brand. He is best known for his eponymous fashion lines. He was also a judge on the program Project Runway All Stars. He studied at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and the Parsons School of Design at The New School. He gained experience working in renowned fashion design companies before transitioning into freelance work in 1987. He presented his first collection in 1988 and won several fashion awards. He began designing men’s clothing in 1990. He appeared in the documentary Unzipped (1995). He then retired from the world of fashion in 1998, then re-entered the world of fashion shows and began a program that included talks and songs. He became creative director of Liz Claiborne in 2008. He was also active in television commentary and reporting.
