An Iraqi actress, who began her theatrical career in the 1970s with the Modern Art Theater troupe as an actress in the play The Offering (1975). She then appeared in the plays The Khan and Lights on Everyday Life. She won several awards, including the Best Actress Award in 1976 for the plays A Boat Without a Fisherman and The Offering. She left Iraq in late 1978, traveled to Yemen, then to Moscow, and completed her master’s degree and Ph.D. in theater criticism. She then traveled to Morocco, then to Canada, where she has lived since 1989.
