British actress born in London, UK on 28 February 1922. She dropped out of school at 17 years old and joined RADA and stood on the Embassy Theatre stage. Her onscreen debut was on the propaganda war film A Voice in the Night (1941). Her most notable works include Love on the Dole (1941), The Night Has Eyes (1942), They Met in the Dark (1943), and Mrs. Fitzherbert (1947). Her last film was Shadow of the Past (1950), afterwards she did some work in theater and TV, including writing several TV series. She married twice and had three children. Shed died on 23 November 2010 in Santa Monica, California, US.
