American actress born in Logan, West Virginia on 31 January 1922. She was married four times and gave birth to three children. Her notable film roles include Red River (1948), All the King's Men (1949), and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949). By the late 1950s, she focused on TV, as she appeared in a number of series, including Guestward Ho! (1960-1961). She died on 10 September 1996 in California, at age 74.
