Her notable film roles include Red River (1948), All the King's Men (1949), and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949). By the late 1950s, she focused on TV, as she appeared in a number of series, including Guestward Ho! (1960-1961). She died on 10 September 1996 in California, at age 74.
