Canadian-American of English origins. screenwriter, director, and producer born in London, UK. He moved to Canada with his family at 8 years old. He went to school in Canada and studied Law at McGill University, Oxford, and Trinity College. After joining Columbia pictures in London, he began writing. His first work was "Maybe That's Your Problem", a stage production originally played on the West End. He received an Academy Award nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for best Comedy Feature. He has over 50 works in TV His notable works include The Vietnam Trilogy: The Hanoi Hilton, To Heal A Nation, and Kissinger and Nixon, as well as the series Love of Life (1951) and the film Ike: Countdown to D-Day. He is a fluent French speaker. He is married and has two children.
