Iranian director and writer, born on November 3, 1956, in Tehran, Iran. His ex-wife is Nahid Tolou. He was a member of the Iranian Parliament from 2000 to 2004. In 2001, he was recognized by an Iranian film criticism magazine as one of the ten best directors in the history of Iranian cinema after taking the votes of 55 Iranian directors. He is known for Azar, Shahdokht, Parviz and Others (2014), The River's End (2003), and Manuscripts (1987). |
