An American actress, born on September 2, 1906, in New York City, New York, USA. While in high school, Barbara developed a great passion for entertainment and appeared in many school plays. Upon her graduation, she traveled to Paris to study at the Sorbonne. After her parents died, she moved to Los Angeles to live with her uncle.
In 1937, Barbara Jo Allen broke into the radio, playing Beth Holly in "One Man's Family," after which she participated in a series of popular shows such as "Death Valley Days" and "I Love a Mystery." She landed jobs as a TV hostess in programs such as Follow the Leader (1953) and The Greatest Man on Earth (1952).
Her notable works include The Opposite Sex (1956) and Sleeping Beauty (1959). Barbara Jo Allen died on September 14, 1974, in Santa Barbara, California, USA.
