An American actor who was born on April 7, 1918 in Mars, Pennsylvania, a small town located about 25 miles from Pittsburgh. He was interested in acting since a young age. He turned an old barn into a theater and began performing in the plays he had written. He studied Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He went to see Meredith Burgess on stage at Winterst and Meredith advised him to study at Carnegie Technology. He began his career in 1943 and got a role in the 1943 movie The Ox-Bow Incident, starring Jennifer Jones. He is known for the Oscar-winning movie Bernadette's Song. He is known for Scarlet Street (1945). He died on January 26, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
