An Indian actress, born in Calcutta, West Bengal, India, to a Bengali family. She attended Loreto School in Bowbazar and showed academic excellence by obtaining scholarships. She was then admitted to Vidyasagar College, University of Calcutta, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. She then obtained a postgraduate degree in Chemistry from Rajbabar College of Science, University of Calcutta. She learned classical dance and was interested in theater from an early age, but she never aspired to become an actress. She made her debut in 2004 in the Bengali television series Jibon Niye Khela, and later worked in other Bengali television series such as Tithir Atithi and Sonar Harin.
