An Indian actress, who participated in Marathi and Hindi cinema, and worked in fifty Marathi films and about two hundred and fifty films in Hindi. She began her career as a child through the film Madhuri in 1932, when she was four years old. She made her real acting debut in the Hindi film Keemat in 1946. After playing the leading actress for more than a decade, she began playing the role of a mother to prominent actors of that era, such as Sunny Deol, Dev Anand, and others.
