An Indian actress, born in Bangalore, India. Her father was an officer in the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, and her mother, Poornima, is of Tamil descent. She began her career in modeling and then entered the world of acting with the film 19 April, directed by Balachandra Menon. During her artistic career, she starred in more than thirty films in Tamil and Malayalam, and won the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress for her performance in several films. Among her most notable works iare Sandhitha Velai (2000), Manadhai Thirudivittai (2001), Rarandoi Veduka Chudham (2017), and Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae (2017).
