An Indian actress and television presenter, who is known for her work in Hindi cinema and films in Marathi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu languages. She was born in Mumbai to a Punjabi father and a South Indian mother. After graduating from Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science & Commerce in Mumbai, she began her career on stage, performing with the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA). She continued her film career and won the Maharashtra Government Award for Best Actress for her role in her debut film, Aaytya Gharat Gharoba, directed by Sachin. She also won the National Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in Shyam Benegal's Sardar Begum. |
