An American actress, born in Jamaica. She emigrated to the US in the late 1980s with her family and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1996. She received an MFA from the Graduate Acting Program at the University of California, San Diego. She is known for Orange Is the New Black (2015), When They See Us (2019), and The Laundromat (2019). She received several nominations and awards, such as a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in When They See Us (2019). Also, she shared an AAFCA Award for Best Ensemble in When They See Us (2019) as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Orange Is the New Black (2013).
