American actress born in Santa Monica, California on 2 July 1921. She studied drama at the Bliss Hayden School of Acting. She then joined the Renoand theater and became a choir girl in musicals. She signed a contract with MGM in 1944 and made her onscreen debut on The Tiger Woman (1944) as a dancer. Her first main role, however, was on Courage of Lassie (1946), and her first starring role was on I've Always Loved You (1946). Other works of hers include Chevron Hall of Stars (1956), and The Outer Limits (1964). She married twice and had three children. She died of pneumonia on 11 May 1997 in Sherman Oaks, California.
