Her first main role, however, was on Courage of Lassie (1946), and her first starring role was on I've Always Loved You (1946). Other works of hers include Chevron Hall of Stars (1956), and The Outer Limits (1964). She married twice and had three children. She died of pneumonia on 11 May 1997 in Sherman Oaks, California.
