An American actress born in Santa Monica, California. She studied at the Bliss-Hayden drama workshop. She worked in a movie theater in Reno and became a chorus girl in musicals. She signed with MGM in 1944 and made her onscreen debut on The Tiger Woman (1944) as a dancer. Her...Read more first main role, however, was on Courage of Lassie (1946), and her first starring role was on I've Always Loved You (1946). Other works of hers include Chevron Hall of Stars (1956) and The Outer Limits (1964). She married twice and had three children. She died of pneumonia on 11 May 1997 in Sherman Oaks, California.
