An Indian actress, born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She's known for her works in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films. She has appeared in more than 300 films in a career that spanned 17 years. She was one of the leading ladies in South Indian cinema in the 1980s.
While she attended Stanley Girls High School in Hyderabad, director Dasari Narayana Rao gave her the lead role in the Telugu film Thoorupu Padamara when she was a teenager. She co-starred in a number of films with Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, the first of which was Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya (1982). Among her other credits are Maro Charithra, Ek Duuje Ke Liye, and A Northern Story of Valor.
