American actor born in Kensington, Texas on 20 June 1924. He first appeared in small roles in Beyond Glory (1948) and Texas, Brooklyn & Heaven (1948) and was given starring roles in Bad Boy (1949) and The Red Badge of Courage (1951). Other notable works of his include Destry (1954), To Hell and Back (1955), The Quiet American (1958), and Ride a Crooked Trail (1958). He married twice and had two children. He died in a plane crash on 28 May 1971 in Virginia, USA. |
