She began her artistic career in 1962 and worked with French New Wave directors such as Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut, as well as other great Italian directors such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Ferreri, and Mario Monicelli. Among her notable films are Last Tango in Paris (1972), The Wild Child (1970), and La Notte (1961). She died on July 10, 1977, in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
