An American-Mexican actress, born to a German father and a Mexican mother. Her mother died when she was very young, and the family moved to the United States, where she spent most of her time. She began her acting career in theater, then moved to films. Her credits include The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1929), The Sea Bat (1930), Duck Soup (1933), and So This Is Africa (1933). She died of a heart attack on August 10, 1987.
