An American singer, composer, songwriter, and music producer born Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, USA. He lost his eyesight due to childhood health complications. He was discovered in 1961 by Ronnie White, who was scouting for talents for Motown Records and he signed him as soon as he heard him sing. Clarence Paul helped him develop his musical talent without focusing on one specific genre. He released his first album in 1965 titled "Everything's Alright", which was met with huge success. In 1966, he covered Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and starting 1967 he began collaborating with other artists and writing songs for them. In 2009, he was named the United Nations Messenger of Peace. Among his credits are The Woman in Red, Jungle Fever, and Wild Wild West.
