American actress born on 13 August 1917 in Idaho, US who wanted to be an actress ever since she was a child, and her parents supported that by giving her lessons and creating a makeshift theater for her in their garden to make shows for their friends and neighbors. After the murder of her father, she moved with her mother and sister to California where she graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School where she studied drama and appeared in a few amateur stage productions. During her work with the Federal Theater Projects she was scouted by someone from Warner Bros. and signed a contract with them and signed a 3-year contract. She made her film debut on They Won't Forget (1937). Other notable works of hers include Gold Diggers in Paris (1938), They Made Me a Criminal (1939), and I Want a Divorce (1940). She appeared in several other B-list films and her last appearance was on Rationing (1944) with MGM. She married ex-boxer William Fitzgerald. By the end of her life, she struggled with weight gain and alcoholism, and died on 10 April 1945 in Los Angeles, California.
