Iranian/ Armenian director and writer, born in 1952 in Arak. He went to Germany to study medicine. In 1975, he presented his first short movie The Cuckoo, then turned the Bayzai scenario into another short movie called Salandar. He made his debut in 1990. He won eight Crystal Symorghs Awards. In 2009, he won the Crystal Simorgh Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Tardid (2009) at the Fajr Film Festival. He directed two other short films, Kuch and Salander in 1998 and 1999. He is known for The Last Act (1991), Doubt (2009), and The Broke (2011).
