An Iranian director born in Isfahan. He holds a bachelor's degree in law. He began his artistic career by writing short stories and wrote his first play, "That One Who Doesn't Know." After directing several short films, he made his directorial debut in feature films, serving as assistant director on the film On the Angels' Wings (1993). He has directed several works, most notably The Destroyer (1995), The Golden Collars (2012), Empty Hands (2007), and The Orphanage (2016).
