However, the Schubart brothers bet on his talent and made him appear in the opening show of the new Winter Garden Theater on Broadway in 1912. Over time, Jolson became “The King of the Winter Garden”. In 1927, his journey with cinema began, but he did not achieve great success away from the stage. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Al Jolson became the first star to entertain American forces abroad, and he continued to entertain the soldiers until the war ended in 1945. He later returned to entertain the soldiers in the Korean War. In 1950, he gave 42 artistic performances in 16 days, which caused his health to deteriorate. Shortly after his return to the United States, he died of a heart attack in San Francisco, California, on October 23, 1950.
