An American actor born in El Paso, Texas on March 6, 1886. Kibbee married twice and had 7 children. He started his career in theater at the age of 14. He first appeared on Broadway in 1930 in Torch Song, after which he managed to sign a contract with Warner Bros. and starred in...Read more his first film Stolen Heaven (1931). Five of the films he starred in later on were nominated for Oscar for Best Picture. He also appeared in several secondary roles, most notably in Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933). He retired from acting in 1950 and died in Long Island, New York of Parkinson's disease on May 24, 1956. From his most known works: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), Rain (1932), Captain January (1936).
