An Italian writer and director, born on March 19, 1975, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. He is known for Mar nero (2008), Dafne (2019), and Soste Japan (2002). He graduated in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Florence. His film Dafne (2019) won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film received the Special Award at the 2019 Silver Ribbons and was selected at the EFA 2019 (European Film Awards). His first feature film, Mar nero (2008), was screened in the international competition at the 2008 Locarno Film Festival, where it won three awards; the Golden Leopard for Best Actress, the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury, and the Youth Jury Award. |
