She was a beautiful film actress, who was known for her horror films in the 1940s. She was born in Chile to English parents, and the family returned to England in the twenties. She worked on herself to become an actress, studied at at The Latymer School, the Golophyn School, the Tacchomo School of Music and Dramatic Art, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She started appearing in British films in small roles during her studies in the mid-thirties, where she presented her first work Land without Music (1936) and presented with Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, Fire Over England (1937). With the outbreak of World War II in Europe, she immigrated to the United States, signed a contract with Universal in 1940, and presented Bachelor Daddy (1941), and appeared with Abbott and Castillo. She is known for the classic horror movie The Wolf Man (1941) starring Lon Chaney Jr. She presented three horror films about Dracula, Frankenstein, and ghosts. She presented with her husband, who returned from the war, Richard Denning and Fox Black Beauty (1946). She presented The Texan Meets Calamity Jane (1950) and then left the cinema and devoted herself to her children.
