An Australian actor, born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, as Charles Pearce Coleman. He married Beatrice and she remained with him until he died in 1951. His credits include It Started with Eve (1941), Poor Little Rich Girl (1936), Bachelor Apartment (1931), and Becky Sharp (1935). Charles Coleman worked in silent and sound films and often played the roles of a groomsman, butler, waiter, and doorman. After a touring tour between Australia and America to work in various theatres, he settled in America in 1923. He began his cinematic career with the silent film The Hummy and the Humming Bird (1915), and with the introduction of sound into films, he appeared in prominent films such as Beyond Victory (1931) and Diplomania (1933). In the forties, he continued his prolific career, in addition to appearing in the most prominent films, such as the first film by comedians Abbott and Lou Castello, Buck Private's (1941), and the first version of Jane Eyre (1943), and his last film was Double Dynamite (1951). He died of a stroke in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on March 8, 1951.
