During her 14-year career in Radio and Television Culture, she produced around 50 documentaries, films, and plays for the station. In 1976, she moved to New York to pursue a degree in film at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. She completed this degree and graduated in 1978. She is best known for the film A Hora da Estrela (1985).
