A French actor and director, born in Paris, France, as George Paul Breakstone. His credits include Urubu (1948), Jungle Stampede (1950), Life Returns (1935), and Manster (1959). He began his artistic career as a child actor on the radio in 1930. George moved to Hollywood, and after World War II, he turned into a director and producer. He settled in Kenya, established his own production company, and directed feature-length adventure films and television episodes with British support. His film debut was It Happened One Night (1934). He became famous for his role as Busy in the Andy Hardy film series in the 1930s. During World War II, he served in the Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations as a photographer. After the war, he returned to cinema as a director, producer, and writer. He made feature films and documentaries in Brazil, the Congo, and Kenya, where he settled. He went to Japan in 1951 and directed and shot two Hollywood films, Oriental Evil (1951) and Geisha Girl (1952). He also produced the television series African Patrol, which was filmed in Kenya. He also made several films in Yugoslavia. He died in Paris, France, on May 21, 1973.
