Italian actor and singer, born on May 18, 1892, in Rome, Italy. His notable works include performing the soundtracks for The Blues Brothers (1980), The Many Saints of Newark (2021), and acting in Mr. Imperium (1951) and Tonight We Sing (1953). He was married to Doris Leak. He won a Tony Award for outstanding lead actor in a musical in 1950, filmed later as South Pacific (1958). He died on May 9, 1957, in Stamford, Connecticut, USA.
