American actress, singer, dancer, writer, and producer born in January 14, 1901, Dallas, Texas. Her mother is a theater actress who began her life in Hollywood during the silent film era as a child actress. At the age of nine, she starred as Dorothy Gale in the 1910 short film The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. At the age of 14, she starred with comedian Harold Lloyd in a series of two-reel comedies, beginning with the 1915 film Giving Them Fits. The two eventually developed a well-known romantic relationship. Her film roles include: Dixiana(1930), The Maltese Falcon (1931) and 42nd Street (1933). She Died on March 16, 1971 in London, England, from cerebral hemorrhage.
