An American actor and director, was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on April 14, 1875 as Joseph Farrell MacDonald. He earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University in 1903 and played football there. He married actress Edith Bostwick (1920-1943), and they had a daughter. His notable film roles include: Superman and the Mole-Men (1951), The Last Alarm (1940) and Meet John Doe (1941). He died in 1952 at the age of 77. |
