An American journalist, born in New York City, USA. Her father, Robert Greenhouse, was a physician and professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and her mother, Dorothy Greenlick. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Radcliffe College in 1968 and a Master of Laws...Read more degree from Yale Law School in 1978. Greenhouse began her forty-year career at The New York Times, covering state government in the newspaper's Albany bureau. She covered Supreme Court hearings from 1978 to 2007, except for two years during the mid-1980s when she covered Congress. Since 1981, she has published more than 2,800 articles in The Times and has been a frequent guest on CBS's Washington Week.
