An American writer and director, born in San Francisco, California. He began his career directing documentaries during the early 1990s, such as his 1995 film Angels and Insects, which was nominated for an Academy Award, a Cannes Film Festival award, and the Palme d'Or. In 2012, he presented The Four Seasons. Among his most famous works are Up at the Villa (2000) and The Situation (2006), a political thriller set in Iraq. |
